The significance of the Bodhi seed comes from the time of the enlightenment of Siddharta Goatama (the Buddha) whilst he was sitting beneath a Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India. The word Bodhi is from Sanskrit and means ‘enlightement’. It is believed that the Bodhi seed holds auspicious energy which has the power to positively influence the wearer in their goal of attainment.
